5GW! Sany’s Monocrystalline Silicon Project Reaches Operational in Shuozhou City of China

PVTIME – Recently, the initial stage of Sany’s monocrystalline silicon venture, possessing a production capacity of 5GW, commenced operations in Shuozhou City, Shanxi Province, China.

The project’s launch took place on the 28th of July in the Shanxi Province with the goal of achieving a production capacity of 12,000 tonnes of monocrystalline silicon ingot. The company utilises an innovative 1600-type low-oxygen furnace to manufacture high-efficiency n-type single crystals. The project generates an estimated yearly output of 2.2 billion yuan alongside an annual tax contribution of 300 million yuan. Furthermore, the project is anticipated to create over 600 employment opportunities for the local community. This is Sany’s inaugural PV-related production project in the area, and it represents the first major PV silicon project in Shanxi Province.

Sany Group commenced operations in the photovoltaic business in 2022. In November of that year, Sany Silicon Energy, a subsidiary of Sany Group, manufactured its first batch of monocrystalline silicon rods. In December 2022, Sany Silicon Energy accomplished a significant breakthrough in PV industry production by rolling out PV module products from their integrated manufacturing base.
