LONGi Launches Mass Production of ACM Battery Technology

PVTIME – PV giant LONGi has officially commenced mass production of its Alloy Contact Matrix (ACM) battery at its manufacturing base in Xi’an’s Xixian New Area, China.

This marks a key milestone in the large-scale commercial deployment of the company’s next-generation battery technology. Nearly a decade of focused research and development has enabled LONGi to achieve comprehensive breakthroughs in ACM battery materials, manufacturing procedures, and specialised production equipment.

Independent third-party certification has validated the technology’s exceptional performance metrics. The Institute for Solar Energy Research in Hamelin has confirmed a cell conversion efficiency of 27.6%, and TÜV Rheinland has verified a module power output of 672W.

The ACM solution increases mass-production conversion efficiency by 0.2-0.3% and module power output by 3-5W, delivering industry-leading stability and operational reliability.

LONGi has established a full-spectrum intellectual property system centred on ACM technology, covering core materials, production processes and equipment adaptation. The company plans to further strengthen supply chain cooperation to consolidate its long-term technological leadership. LONGi’s local industrial layout has supported Xixian New Area in forming a complete photovoltaic industrial chain spanning silicon wafers, cells, modules and manufacturing equipment. Scenario-driven PV application development continues to drive high-quality green growth across the region.
