JA Solar to Launch PV, Wind Power and ES Projects in China and Continue Partnership with Power N Sun in Middle East

PVTIME – On 31 October 2023, JA Solar Technology Co., Ltd. (JA Solar)(002459.SZ), a leading manufacturer of high performance photovoltaic products, announced that it plans to invest approximately 1.574 billion pounds towards constructing photovoltaic, wind power and centralised energy storage facilities.

In addition, a fishery solar plant will be established by a newly-formed project company, in which JA Solar holds 66.67% shares, with a total budget of 585,275,900 yuan, according to the announcement. The PV power station in Dongtai City, Jiangsu Province of China is designed for 210MW installed capacity and is set to be completed within 11 months.

Similarly, the first phase of the wind power project in Zunyi City, Guizhou Province of China will be completed within 12 months, with a total investment of 624,573,500 yuan and an installed capacity of 100MW.

Additionally, a new company of JA Solar is expected to launch a centralised energy storage project with a capacity of 100MW/200MWh in Changde City, China. The project is anticipated to cost 364,290,000 yuan and the construction process, including equipment acquisition, system setup and related facility building, will be completed within 14 months.

Furthermore, JA Solar and Power n Sun recently signed another cooperation agreement to promote distributed solar PV products in the Middle East and South Asia. Since the partnership was established in 2021, both companies have achieved fruitful results, with over 100MW of PV products distributed to local solar projects in 2022. The two sides are committed to creating high value for local customers with clean and stable solar energy and achieving mutually beneficial cooperation and win-win development.
