PVTIME – India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has expanded its Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) by adding 11,964MW of registered PV module capacity. The total listed capacity is now 215.52GW.
Four firms have been newly included: Poola Energy (15MW), SLR Solar (1,020MW), Veda Solar (546MW) and Senses14 Power Solution (57MW). Poola Energy, SLR Solar and Veda Solar are registered for TOPCon modules, while Senses14 Power Solution is registered for monocrystalline PERC modules.
Six existing manufacturers have had their capacities increased: Adani New Industries (+4,781MW), Credence Solar Panels (+1,796MW), Fujiyama Power Systems (+1,014MW), HR Solar Solution (+631MW), SAEL Solar P6 (+1,855MW), and RPSG Solvanta (formerly Best Apartment) (+249MW). Sova Solar’s registered capacity has decreased by 79MW, from 1,368MW to 1,289MW.
MNRE has withdrawn a transitional exemption that permitted delayed PV projects to bypass ALMM requirements. Pending applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
In an ALMM solar cell update published on 22 July 2026, MNRE confirmed the total registered capacity of domestic solar cells at 31.76GW.
In June 2026, the MNRE exempted certain high-power ALMM-listed modules from on-site factory inspections, covering models within 3% of the maximum registered power rating.
Last year, MNRE proposed extending ALMM coverage to silicon ingots and wafers. Following the release of the first ALMM wafer list, a seven-day window will apply for project exemption eligibility.
