PVTIME – Early this year, the Longtian 400MW and Heping 150MW Aquaculture PV Projects in Shantou City started the construction. So far, all the works are undergoing in perfect order. Recently we had the chance to visit the project sites with the opportunity to have a peek into the half-completed PV plants, whose EPC services are both contracted by Chint Solar.
The floating mobile piledrivers are erecting the poles deep into the fishpond bed.
The erected poles are in perfect order, just like soldiers in the formation waiting for commander’s inspection.
The good environment is very much favored by the aquatic birds. CHINT’s team has done a lot to push forward the construction progress without damaging the good ambient conditions.
These 2 projects, 550WM in together, have become one more demonstration of the good practice of “Splendid PV”, which is the philosophy followed by CHINT Solar in all PV projects since years ago. The business mode of “Power Generation Above,Agricultural Production Beneath” is relatively a better way for the multi-use of limited land and space that achieves the effects of “1+1>2”.
So far, the erection of poles is almost finalized, and part of the racking systems have been installed. The workers from CHINT won’t waste any second to catch up the schedule while without compromising the quality and standard.
As soon as commissioned in late 2023, the 2 projects would contribute 600 million kWh of electricity to the grid every year and save 200,000 tons of coal and 600,000 tons of CO2 at the same time, which is equivalent to the planting of 340,000 trees.
