China Adds 1.33GW in Distributed PV Installations in October, Surpasses 6GW Guideline for the Year

PVTIME – According to October distributed information released by the National Energy Administration, the total installed capacity of distributed photovoltaic projects newly included in the national subsidy budget was 1.33GW. As of the end of October, the total installed capacity of distributed photovoltaic projects added in 2020 is 6.61GW.

The total installed capacity of distributed photovoltaic projects in 2020 has now surpassed the upper limit of 6GW allowed to be included in the national financial subsidy scale for 2020.

According to the relevant requirements outlined in the <Notice on Matters Related to the Construction of Wind and Solar Power Generation Projects in 2020>, when the total installed capacity of new grid-connected projects for the year up to the end of last month has exceeded the total annual installed capacity of new projects that can be arranged in the year, the last day of the month when the distributed photovoltaic information is released shall mark the deadline for grid-connected distributed photovoltaics that wish to benefit from the national subsidy policy for the current year. In order to ensure the stable and healthy development of the industry, November 30, 2020, is the deadline for grid connection of distributed photovoltaic projects to be included in the national fiscal subsidy scale in 2020.
