PVTIME – Trina Storage has entered into a strategic memorandum of understanding with the Japanese renewable energy developer AMP-lify, agreeing to deliver 1GWh of battery energy storage system equipment for grid-scale energy storage projects in Japan. This marks a strengthening of the firm’s market penetration in the country.
The non-binding agreement, signed on 14 September 2026, establishes a formal framework for Trina Storage to supply its mature Elementa 3 series BESS solutions to support AMP-lify’s domestic project portfolio. Trina Storage’s local Japanese team will provide comprehensive technical support, including system configuration guidance, professional consultation, delivery coordination, and after-sales assistance for all joint projects.
AMP-lify operates extensively across Japan, specialising in the development, construction, and operation of grid-connected battery storage and utility-scale solar and onshore wind assets. Japan’s stringent engineering standards and complex grid connection regulations have long presented substantial barriers to market entry for international storage suppliers.
