34.82%! JinkoSolar Sets New Tandem Cell Efficiency Benchmark

PVTIME – Global photovoltaic supplier JinkoSolar has secured independent certification from the Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology under the Chinese Academy of Sciences for its N-type TOPCon perovskite tandem cell, which has achieved a conversion efficiency of 34.82%.

The figure exceeds the manufacturer’s earlier record of 34.76% for the same cell category and marks the 33rd instance where the firm has established new world records for solar cell efficiency and module power output.

The performance improvement originates from a series of proprietary technical innovations covering dual-layer composite passivation contact structures, multi-dimensional interfacial passivation, gradient crystallisation kinetics control and advanced optical coupling and light management solutions. This technical leap delivers important progress towards the industrial rollout of next generation perovskite tandem technology.

JinkoSolar was the first global PV manufacturer to scale up N-type TOPCon production. Continuous research into TOPCon optimisation and emerging perovskite tandem technology has validated the commercial and technical feasibility of combining these two cell architectures through the latest efficiency achievement.
