500MW! Taiji Signs with Next Solar Energy for PV Plant in Uzbekistan

PVTIME – On 21 February 2024, Wuxi Taiji Industry Limited Corporation (600667.SH), a China-based group mainly engaged in semiconductor-related business, engineering services, and photovoltaic power plant investment and operation, announced that one of its subsidiaries, Design and Research Institute Science and Technology Engineering Co., Ltd., has signed a contract with Next Solar Energy Group for the construction of a solar power plant (500MW in the first phase) in Popskiy District, Namangan Region, Republic of Uzbekistan, valued at RMB 1.609 billion.

As per the announcement, the subsidiary will be accountable for the construction support, installation of PV modules, inverters, and related works. The full-capacity grid-connected power generation is tentatively scheduled for 30 December 2025.

Furthermore, Taiji Industry anticipates achieving a net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company of RMB 679,273,000 for FY2023, as per its performance preview. This will mark a turnaround from the previous year’s loss.
