PVTIME – JinkoSolar has confirmed the signing of a 2GW supply agreement for high-efficiency PV modules with Masdar, a leading UAE energy enterprise. The agreement will support Masdar’s iconic Round-the-Clock (RTC) integrated solar-storage flagship project in Abu Dhabi.

The signing ceremony was attended by key executives from both parties, including Masdar’s CEO, Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi; Supply Chain and Procurement General Manager, Jad Abdel Rahim Masri; and Development and Investment Director, Abdulla Zayed. JinkoSolar was represented by its CEO, CMO, and MEA Regional General Manager, Li Xiang.
This collaboration reflects Masdar’s recognition of the quality of JinkoSolar’s products, its delivery capabilities, and its global service system. Tiger Neo modules have been selected as the core component of world-class new energy and AI computing power projects.
A joint development by Masdar and the UAE Water and Electricity Company (EWEC), the RTC project is the world’s largest integrated solar-storage initiative, featuring a 5.2GW solar plant and a 19GWh battery energy storage system, currently the most technologically advanced of its kind.
Designed to address the intermittency of new energy sources, the project delivers clean power 24/7 to meet the surging demand of data centres. It uses cutting-edge technologies, including virtual power plants, grid networking and AI-driven smart dispatching, which are tailored to the high-stability, long-term computing load requirements of data centres.
JinkoSolar’s Tiger Neo modules are built on the mature N-type TOPCon platform and meet AI-driven data centre (AIDC) scenario standards. They offer high efficiency, a strong low-light response, high fire safety ratings and robust mechanical load resistance, and are therefore perfectly suited to harsh Middle Eastern desert conditions.
With a total investment exceeding 22 billion dirhams, the RTC project will create over 10,000 jobs and drive the development of a new energy manufacturing hub. Scheduled to begin operating in 2027, it will reduce annual carbon emissions by around 5.7 million tonnes.
This 2GW deal is a significant step in JinkoSolar’s expansion into the high-end Middle Eastern market, strengthening its long-term strategic partnership with Masdar. JinkoSolar will continue to provide high-quality products and localised technical services to support the efficient construction of the project and advance the global energy transition.
