PVTIME – On 12 January 2024, the second phase of Honsun’s 20GW high-efficiency n-type silicon ingot and 14GW silicon wafer projects in Dali City, Yunan Province, China, reached operational stage.
The project was launched on 13 September 2023 and became operational within 121 days, with high standard, high volume and high efficiency. It aims to produce large size wafers with size of 210 and below to meet the production of high-end solar cells such as HJT, TOPCon, IBC and so on.
Meanwhile, this expansion project is expected to drastically reduce the cost of silicon material production and strengthen its competitiveness in the industry, and crucially increase the company’s profitability.
