PVTIME – A number of renewable-related projects have recently been signed in Shanghai, China, including a perovskite module factory.
The perovskite solar module factory will be initiated by Wuxi UtmoLight Technology Co., Ltd. (UtmoLight), a China-based technology development company at the forefront of perovskite industrialisation, with total investment of 1.5 billion yuan. The new facility will be located in Heze City, Shandong Province.
Since its establishment in 2018, UtmoLight has pursued a development vision of making the world greener. After years of developing perovskite solar technology, UtmoLight has established a portfolio of core technologies and products with independent intellectual property rights. These are the result of the company’s long-term engagement with perovskite industrialisation, supported by its Chief Scientist, Professor M.K Nazeeruddin, an academician of the European Academy of Sciences. UtmoLight has filed a total of 406 core patents, of which 272 are patents of invention. Additionally, UtmoLight has set seven new world records for the efficiency of perovskite modules and has obtained the first TÜV certificate in the industry for its 0.72m² commercial-grade perovskite module.
