Risen Unveils Its First Mass-Produced 210 HJT Cell

PVTIME – On May 10, Risen Energy Co., Ltd (Risen Energy), a leading Tier 1 manufacturer of high-performance solar photovoltaic products, celebrated that its first batch of 210 Heterojunction solar cell was delivered from the mass production line.

It took three months for Risen’s Jintan factory to complete the pilot production line for its 210 HJT cell via upgrading the original production line and new equipment installation, finally reached mass production with an estimated annual production capacity of 500MW. The new production line is dedicated to serve for Risen’s new Hyper-ion series of HJT cells, and is expected to supply large-sized n-type heterojunction products with more cost-effectiveness and lower carbon emissions to meet the needs of domestic and overseas customers.

Risen’s Hyper-ion series of HJT cells adopt a number of industry-leading technologies, including the use of 210 half-cut silicon wafers with a thickness of 120μm and four chamfers, microcrystalline technology and low-silver paste. The cell’s efficiency exceeded 25.5%, the module power reached 700W, and the module efficiency reached 22.53%. The LCOE of the new HJT solar module is 10% lower than that of PERC modules, which will bring customers a lower cost of electricity and increase the installed capacity. What is more, Hyper-ion series has passed 5 times the IEC test, while its carbon footprint score simulated by a third party is lower than 400kg eq CO2/kWc, which will make outstanding contributions to fulfill the Dual-Carbon goals in China.

“Risen is confident for the popularity of new Hyper-ion series HJT cells,” said Dr. YANG Bochuan, manager of Risen’s HJT Division. “Our new Hyper-ion series 210 HJT cell will undoubtedly accelerated the market trend that 210+ HJT cells are strengthening the solar market’s preference for 600W+ modules. The n-type modules are expected to reach 10-20% of the PV market next year, when the shipments of Hyper-ion series will achieve a leap breakthrough. In order to meet the growing needs for solar modules, Risen is preparing for larger production scale of HJT cells and modules by building new factories and increasing its production capacity.” Dr. YANG added.
