First Phase of JinkoSolar’s 16GW Yiwu Manufacturing Plant Begins Production

PVTIME – In September of 2019, JinkoSolar and the management committee of Yiwu High Tech Zone officially signed an investment agreement outlining JinkoSolar’s intent to construct a 16GW solar module production project inside of Yiwu High Tech Zone. With an investment total of 11 billion yuan, the project was to be constructed in two phases beginning March 3, 2019. Yesterday, it was announced that phase one of this project is now ready to produce 4.8GW in high efficiency modules annually.

Phase two of the projected is slated to begin construction in August of this year and expected reach production capacity in February 2020. Upon completion, the Yiwu plant would bring in an estimated 30 billion yuan annually for JinkoSolar and greatly enhance the company’s manufacturing capacity to 25GW a year.

Presently, JinkoSolar’s products have been exported to more than 140 countries and regions in the world. In 2019, Jinko’s module shipments exceeded 14.3GW, ranking first among all manufacturers for the fourth consecutive year.
