Unigreen Group’s Largest HJT Production Facility in Europe Breaks Ground

PVTIME – Unigreen Group, a vertically integrated renewable energy company owned by Hevel majority shareholder Ream Management LLC, has begun building a heterojunction (HJT) gigafactory in Kaliningrad, Russia.

Upon completion, the EnCore gigafactory will produce 1.3GW of silicon n-type monocrystalline ingots and wafers as well as 1GW of heterojunction technology (HJT) solar cells. Production is expected to begin in late 2022 and Unigreen Energy plans on selling the majority of the produced volumes overseas, including in Europe, the Asia Pacific and other regions.

Unigreen Group has stated that EnCore will become the largest HJT production facility in Europe where the company will be applying one of the most efficient heterojunction technology, which provides higher conversion efficiency and higher energy yield than current standard solar modules.
