PVTIME – According to a stock-exchange filing dated 30 October 2026, Shenzhen Nanshan Power Co., Ltd., known by its brand identifier NSRD and listed as 000037.SZ, has signed a non-binding letter of intent to acquire between 51% and 70% equity in TrinaTracker, the photovoltaic tracker subsidiary owned by Trina Solar.

If the cash-financed transaction is completed, TrinaTracker will become a controlled subsidiary of NSRD and will be consolidated within its financial statements. Trina Solar will relinquish majority control of its tracker division, enabling the group to focus more strategically on its core photovoltaic module and energy storage operations.
Regulatory assessments suggest that the proposed deal will likely qualify as a major asset restructuring under Chinese securities rules. The arrangement does not constitute a related-party transaction, involves no new share issuance, and will not alter the ultimate controlling shareholders of the listed firm. The stock will continue to trade normally throughout the evaluation phase.
This remains an early-stage proposal. Final terms, valuation, and formal contractual documentation have yet to be agreed. Completion is conditional upon receiving internal corporate approvals and external regulatory clearances, and there can be no guarantee that the acquisition will proceed. For Shenzhen Nanshan Power Co., Ltd., the purchase represents a strategic move to expand its activities beyond gas-fired generation and integrated energy services into new renewable energy industry segments.
