Tesla to Lay Off 10% of Workforce, No Affect on Solar PV Workers

PVTIME – Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed in an internal letter that the company will lay off 10% of its global workforce.

The layoffs will not affect employees involved in car, battery, or solar product manufacturing.

Tesla’s hiring has slowed down in recent years, with the company adding 29,000 employees in 2022, but only 12,000 in 2023. As of December 2023, Tesla had 140,473 employees. This means that by the end of this year, at least 14,000 employees could be out of a job.
