PVTIME – SolarEdge Technologies is undertaking another global reduction in its workforce as the Israeli-headquartered solar inverter manufacturer continues to implement cost-control measures amid persistent industry pressures. According to local Israeli media reports dated 30 October 2026, approximately 200 roles will be eliminated across worldwide operations, with between 50 and 60 of these positions based in Israel.

This marks the fifth round of job cuts implemented by the company over the past three years. The first round of workforce adjustments began in January 2024, resulting in around 900 global redundancies. Further reductions totalling 400 roles followed in July 2024. A further 500 roles were cut in November 2024, linked to the closure and planned sale of its South Korean energy storage division. An additional 400 job cuts were announced in January 2025 to streamline group-wide operations. In total, these actions have removed approximately 2,400 positions from the company’s payroll.
The group published its second-quarter 2026 financial figures, showing quarterly revenue of USD 346 million. This represented sequential and annual increases of 11.5% and 19.6% respectively, though the business still recorded a net loss for the period.
Persistent market headwinds within the global photovoltaic sector lie behind the repeated restructuring activity, even as some of SolarEdge’s financial metrics show gradual improvement. No further details have been released regarding potential additional cost-saving initiatives.
