SNEC 2026 Opening Day Overview: PV Upgrade & Energy Storage Take Centre Stage

PVTIME – Veda Solar, an Indian solar manufacturer, has announced the launch of full commercial output at its Surat, Gujarat production facility. The site has a total capacity of 1.5GW, with all production lines utilising mainstream N-type TOPCon and bifacial generation technology.

The plant manufactures high-power PV modules with a rating of 550MWp to 630MWp. The company’s product range includes monofacial, bifacial, all-black and polycrystalline panels, suitable for commercial and utility-scale solar deployments. The hardware delivers robust performance; TOPCon modules achieve conversion efficiencies between 21% and 28.3%, whilst bifacial variants deliver a 30% rear-side power uplift. The company’s strong efficiency and broad site compatibility have secured it a competitive position within India’s domestic renewable market.

As outlined in Mercom India’s 2026 India Solar Manufacturing Report, there has been rapid national capacity growth across 2025. India has seen significant growth in its solar energy sector, with the addition of almost 119GW of new module capacity and more than 9GW of new cell capacity over the past year. By December 2025, aggregate national manufacturing capacity reached approximately 210GW for modules and 27GW for cells.
