Qcells Teams With Microsoft to Supply 2.5GW Solar Module to the US

PVTIME – Solar manufacturer Qcells, a subsidiary of Hanwha Korean energy leading group, has signed with Microsoft the the cloud giant to ensure a steady supply for at least 2.5GW solar module in the US.

Microsoft intends to add 2.5GW solar power purchase capacity, creating clean power to meet the energy needs in its data centers, as it has committed to run on 100 percent renewable energy by the year of 2025 as well as carbon-negative and water-positive goals by 2030.

The two sides will develop solar projects with the modules and EPC services provided by Qcells. And the new partnership will build a solar energy supply chain in the US as Microsoft is one of the largest purchasers of renewable energy in the world and Qcells an one-stop solar solution provider in the US.
