PV Hardware expands Houston solar-tracker plant

PVTIME – PV Hardware, a Spanish solar-tracking technology supplier, has announced a capacity-boosting expansion of its manufacturing base in Houston, Texas. This is in response to mounting demand in the US utility-scale solar market, as reported on 22 October 2026.

Operated through its local subsidiary, PVH USA, the Houston facility’s overall capacity will increase by 42% following the upgrade. An additional 34,200 square feet of floor space has been incorporated into the existing plant, which first opened for production in 2024. The expansion will particularly increase output of pre-assembled tracker hardware, a core product line designed to ease the challenges faced by US solar engineering, procurement and construction contractors.

A key element of PVH USA’s local manufacturing strategy is shifting assembly work from remote project sites to controlled factory premises. Pre-fabricated tracker units reduce the volume of separate components delivered to solar farm construction sites, mitigating labour shortages and tightening on-site project timelines for domestic solar developers.

This investment is part of the firm’s wider strategy to strengthen its North American supply chain. Rather than relying wholly on imported hardware, increased local production enables PV Hardware to reduce lead times for customers operating within the rapidly growing US solar sector. Market conditions have driven strong demand for tracking structures as the construction of utility-scale solar projects continues to increase in multiple US states.

No new job creation figures or total capital expenditure values for the Houston expansion have been disclosed in the public corporate announcement. The upgraded plant will supply tracker systems for forthcoming utility-scale solar projects throughout the United States.
