PVTIME – On October 25, JA Solar held the commissioning ceremony for phase I of its high-efficiency silicon solar cell and module manufacturing project in Yiwu, China.

Jin Baofang, Chairman of JA Solar, said in his speech that the Yiwu project is the largest investment project for JA Solar to date and also the first domestic investment launched by JA Solar since the company made its return to the China A-shares market, and is one of strategic significance for JA Solar’s future development.

The project framework agreement for the project was signed in March and construction officially started in May this year. Mr. Jin went on to praise the construction unit as well as all Yiwu base staff for overcoming various adversities during the construction process and thanked them for making production possible in just five months.
During the commissioning ceremony, JA Solar and Aiko Solar signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement.
