Guangdong Electric Power Development to Establish 3GW in Solar Power Generation Projects in Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai Province

PVTIME – On July 23, 2021, Guangdong Electric Power Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) and the People’s Government of Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai Province signed a “Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement”.

In order to effectively develop and utilize the abundant solar energy resources in the Huangnan Prefecture region, and actively respond to General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech on promoting the high-quality development of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the company has chosen to pursue cooperation with the Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province.

The two parties will jointly promote the investment and development of 3GW in photovoltaic power generation projects in Huangnanzhou by Guangdong Electric Power. The total investment of the project is estimated to be about 12 billion yuan. The agreement is valid for 2 years, and within 3 months before the expiration, the validity period can be extended for another 2 years after negotiation and agreement between the two parties.

Guangdong Electric Power Development stated in the announcement that the agreement does not have a significant impact on the company’s operating performance this year, and the impact on the company’s future operating performance will depend on the progress and implementation of specific projects. The performance of the agreement does not affect the independence of the company’s business, and the company will not rely on the counterparty due to the performance of the above agreement.
