PVTIME – Qingdian Changxin, a subsidiary of Qingdian Solar, a provider of photovoltaic power generation services with various technologies in silicon and solar cell production, is pleased to announce that its first TOPCon solar cell has rolled off the production line at its manufacturing base in Hefei City, Anhui Province, China.
The conversion efficiency of the delivered TOPCon cells reached 25% or more. The project was launched in August 2023 with a total investment of 12 billion yuan (US$1.668 billion) and will soon start mass production, using the world’s leading automated cell production equipment that integrates digitalisation and intelligence on a large scale. Once fully operational, the production capacity is estimated to reach 23.1 GW per year.
