PVTIME – US utility-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) developer and operator Jupiter Power has secured US$1.4 billion in project financing across four distinct transactions to deliver ten grid-scale battery storage facilities with a total capacity of 1,500 MW/3,600 MWh in Texas and Michigan.

The four financing vehicles, first publicly announced on 16 September 2026, closed sequentially between April and July 2026. The capital stack comprises senior-secured project debt, tax-equity bridge loans, and an investment-grade US private placement, signalling strong, continued institutional investor appetite for Jupiter Power’s utility-scale storage platform. This new financing brings the total capital raised by Jupiter Power since its foundation to over US$3 billion.
The individual financing tranches are structured as follows:
April 2026 (US$258 million): Senior-secured facility for Callisto II and Pamela Heights I in Harris County, Texas. Coordinating Lead Arrangers: Societe Generale and MUFG.
July 2026 (US$536 million): Senior-secured facility for three Texas projects: Tidwell Prairie II, Bee Branch and Barton Branch. Lenders: HSBC Bank USA, N.A. and SMBC. This is Jupiter Power’s largest financing deal to date.
June 2026 (US$281 million): BBB- rated by Kroll Bond Rating Agency (KBRA), senior-secured note private placement backed by three operational BESS assets: Tidwell Prairie I and St. Gall II in Texas, and Tibbits in Michigan. The notes were purchased by AB CarVal and Nuveen, and the placement agents were: Barclays and HSBC Securities Inc.
May 2026 (US$294 million): Construction-term loan, tax-equity bridge loan and letter-of-credit package for Grand Basin and Voyager I, two Michigan BESS assets connected to the MISO power market. Lenders: ING Capital and Société Générale.
Jupiter Power manages a large portfolio of projects in the US. In January 2026, the firm closed a $500 million senior-secured green revolving credit facility to advance its national battery energy storage system (BESS) development portfolio.
In March 2026, Massachusetts regulators approved the landmark 700 MW/2,800 MWh Trimount BESS project, which is being developed on the site of the former ExxonMobil oil depot in Everett, Middlesex County. Trimount was one of the projects selected in the 2025 Section 83E storage RFP round held by the Massachusetts DOER.
