China’s First Multifunctional Energy Station With Solar Power Generation Has Been Completed and Put Into Operation

China’s first multifunctional fueling station to integrate gas, CNG, hydrogen, and electric charging with photovoltaic power generation

The station will generate approximately 50,000 kWh of electricity annually

PVTIME – A few days ago, China’s first multifunctional energy station with integrated photovoltaic power generation was officially completed and put into operation in Guangxi. The photovoltaic power generation portion of this project was built by Yingli Group’s wholly-owned subsidiary Guangxi Yingli Yuansheng Construction Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Yuansheng Construction Engineering”).

The Sinopec station is China’s first multifunctional fueling station to integrate gas, CNG, hydrogen, and electric charging with photovoltaic power generation. The distributed photovoltaic project is built on the idle canopy of the energy station and the roof of the convenience store. The total installed capacity of the rooftop system is 47.7 kilowatts. According to calculations, the station is expected to generate about 50,000 kWh of electricity per year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 47MT, which is equivalent to saving about 18MT of standard coal and planting more than 2,600 trees.

“This station represents the future development direction of Sinopec gas stations and marks a solid step for traditional energy companies in energy transformation and industrial upgrading,” said Meng Chao, the project leader of Yuansheng Construction Engineering. “In the past, photovoltaic power stations were mainly built on oil and gas sites. It is the first time in China that a photovoltaic power station was built on this kind of integrated energy station,” Meng added.

Sinopec Guangxi Petroleum Branch began upgrading and transforming the original refueling station in June this year and it is one of more than 110 Sinopec stations in Hainan and other provinces to have undergone a photovoltaic transformation.
