The 6-billion-yuan base will have an annual output of 20GWh of BYD’s Blade batteries and be implemented in two phases. Both phases will implement 10GWH in annual production capacity at the cost of 3 billion yuan. Upon completion, the annual taxable sales revenue of the project is estimated to be 13 billion yuan.

Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and President of BYD Co., Ltd. said: “In recent years, BYD and Bengbu have deepened cooperation and jointly promoted the construction of a large green transportation system, forming a good foundation for cooperation. The newly signed new energy power battery project will adopt the industrial 4.0 construction standard and help fill the technological gaps in the power battery industry in Bengbu. At the same time, it will promote the development of the upstream and downstream industrial chains of electric vehicles, the Skyrail, advanced energy storage and battery materials.”

BYD has been vigorously expanding its battery production capacity. Currently, BYD has established production bases in Shenzhen, Xi’an, Qinghai, Chongqing, Changsha, and Guiyang.
