BYD to Develop Perovskite Cell Technology

PVTIME – BYD, the world’s leading electric vehicle company also engaged in solar power generation solutions, has recently been disclosed that a research institute has been established with a specific focus on photovoltaic technology, including perovskite cells.

To enhance the conversion efficiency of PV panels and reduce costs, the BYD Solar R&D team conducted various laboratory approaches to improve the performance records for solar cells and modules. They did this by upgrading the silver pasting processing, enhancing the adhesive film technologies, thinning the silicon wafer, and minimising the electrode grid lines.

As a pioneer of new energy solutions provider, BYD has changed its focus from PERC cells to n-type TOPCon and HJT ones. They are also paying attention to perovskite products technology, so they can offer customers dependable PV products with outstanding technology and low LCOE.
