PVTIME – European electrolyser manufacturer Stargate Hydrogen has signed a grant‑funding agreement under the EU Innovation Fund, securing EUR 20.6 M to expand its manufacturing facility in Tallinn, Estonia. The funding will scale domestic European production capacity for the company’s electrolyser hardware, reinforcing regional supply chains for green‑hydrogen equipment.
The grant is administered by CINEA, the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency. The Tallinn site expansion will ramp‑up output of alkaline electrolyser electrodes, stacks and full systems in a phased build‑out. This project supports the EU’s broader climate objectives by lifting the continent’s home‑grown electrolyser manufacturing base for green‑hydrogen deployment.
The expanded factory will create around 150 direct high‑skilled jobs in Estonia. Output from the upgraded facility will serve power‑to‑X and renewable‑hydrogen projects across European markets, lowering reliance on imported electrolyser equipment within the bloc.
