PVTIME – Hyroad Energy has opened a new hydrogen refuelling facility in Santa Fe Springs, California. This facility will provide dedicated low-carbon fuel infrastructure to support the operations of hydrogen-powered truck fleets across Southern California. Specialising in commercial hydrogen mobility solutions, the company has installed a mobile liquid hydrogen refuelling unit at the local Tom’s Truck Center site to increase regional fuel supply capacity.
The integrated refuelling system is supplied by Taylor-Wharton, a leading provider of cryogenic and hydrogen fuelling equipment and a wholly owned subsidiary of Air Water America. The compact mobile unit is equipped with a 1000 kg liquid hydrogen storage tank, integrated pumps, dispensers, control modules and safety systems, enabling rapid operational deployment. This flexible setup supplements the ongoing development of Hyroad Energy’s permanent, stationary refuelling stations across the region.
Industry leaders have affirmed the project’s strategic significance for the hydrogen mobility sector. The head of Hyroad Energy’s hydrogen infrastructure division notes that the facility validates the fast deployment, operational reliability, and scalable potential of hydrogen trucking infrastructure. Each newly commissioned refuelling asset reinforces the commercial viability of the hydrogen fuel supply, thereby bolstering investment confidence among fleet operators, vehicle manufacturers, and other industry stakeholders.
