PVTIME – On 25 February 2024, Zhejiang Bangjie Holding Group Co. (Bangjie, 002634.SZ), formerly Zhejiang Bangjie Digital Knitting Share Co., Ltd, which is principally engaged in the design, research, development, production and sale of seamless garments, announced that it has officially started the construction of its solar cell and wafer plant and related facilities in Jiangshan City, Zhejiang Province, China.
The total investment of the project is estimated at 8 billion yuan. It is planned to reach a production capacity of 8GW n-type high efficiency solar cells and 16GW large size PV wafers and slices per year. In addition, 3500 jobs will be created for local people.
As a global leader in the seamless apparel industry, Bangjie has started its renewable energy business since 2022, taking advantage of its strong capital and policy support. And it is now mainly focusing on R&D of n-type technology, production and sales of high-efficiency photovoltaic cells.
