PVTIME – On January 17, LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (601012.SH) the PV giant has signed a Cooperation Agreement on new monocrystalline silicon wafer and solar cell production project in Xixian New Area, Shaanxi Province of China.
This particular project will reach an annual output of 100GW monocrystalline silicon wafers and 50GW solar cells, which will be the largest base of LONGi in China, as well as the PV base with highest production capacity in the world. The total investment is about 45.2 billion yuan, and it is estimated to pay a tax of 6 billion yuan per year.
What is more, its annual output of 50GW solar cell is expected to generate approximately 133 billion KWH of electricity annually, reducing the consumption of 48 million metric tons of standard coal which equals to 103 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions as well as adding 4.22 million mu forest. Furthermore, 15,000 jobs related to the project will be available.
