2GW! GCL to Launch Perovskite Project and Integrated Manufacturing Base in China

PVTIME – On 18 December 2023, the GCL Group announced its integrated renewable energy project.

The new facility, located in Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province, China, aims to build an integrated renewable energy production base with an output of more than 100 billion yuan. According to the announcement, it will include perovskite solar products, energy storage solutions, intelligent energy and financial centre. In addition, the world’s first mass production lines for perovskite PV products with a capacity of 2GW will be established by Kunshan GCL Photoelectric Materials Co., Ltd. (GCL Perovskite), a subsidiary of GCL Tech, in two phases.

In addition, in November 2023, GCL Perovskite announced two remarkable conversion efficiencies on perovskite modules, 18.04% on a perovskite single-junction solar module with dimensions of 1,000mm x 2,000mm, and a maximum conversion efficiency of 26.17% for its perovskite tandem module with dimensions of 278mm x 370mm.
