PVTIME – Nexgen has halted the preliminary planning of its proposed 160MW portfolio of onshore wind projects in the Philippines. The developer has confirmed that it will discontinue all preliminary planning for the proposed wind assets.

No construction contracts or power purchase agreements had been finalised for the project prior to this decision. The company’s withdrawal from the scheme was driven by commercial challenges within the local renewable market.
Nexgen will not maintain active development rights for these sites. While the firm has not ruled out future investment in renewable energy in the Philippines, no new project proposals have been announced.
