PVTIME -On 16 June 2023, the first phase of Geely’s polysilicon and photovoltaic products project was officially launched in Heilan Industrial Park, Yinchuan City, Ningxia, China.
The project is invested by Geely JoiNet Energy Co, a renewable energy business division of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co, China’s largest private car manufacturer. It is designed to achieve a production capacity of 100,000 MT of polysilicon per year mainly by physical purification method, which is the first large-scale polysilicon production base using physical technology with fully independent intellectual property rights. The energy consumption per unit of the project is estimated to be 40% of that of the traditional method, with advantages of low energy consumption, high safety, green environmental protection, etc.
