Trina Solar and SPIC Ink for Floating Solar Power Plant in Malaysia

PVTIME – Trina Solar recently signed an agreement with SPIC ChinaPower International Holding Ltd. to jointly develop and construct floating PV power plants in Malaysia and Cambodia.

The two parties have jointly signed a Share Purchase Agreement and Shareholders’ Agreement for the floating PV project in Malaysia and other related important transaction agreements. This particular floating PV plant with an installed capacity of 69.3MWp is located in the Batang Ai reservoir area in Negeri Sarawak, Malaysia. It is planned to sign a 30-year fixed-rate PPA with Sarawak Electric Energy Berhad (SEB), with construction expected to start at the end of December 2023 and production at the end of October 2024.
