PVTIME – Yesterday, Shangji Automation issued an announcement stating that its wholly-owned subsidiary Hongyuan New Materials (Baotou) Co., Ltd. has signed a monocrystalline silicon wafer sales contract with Tongwei Solar (Chengdu) Co., Ltd.

According to the contract, Shangji Automation will sell 272 million monocrystalline silicon wafers to Tongwei subsidiaries in 2021 (the actual quantity may differ by no more than 15%). With reference to PVInfoLink’s latest price and production scheduling plan estimates, the estimated sales amount for 2021 is 1.306 billion yuan (tax included). Both parties have agreed that the purchase order contract of each subsequent month shall be signed before the end of each month, and the corresponding payment shall be made in the next month.

In the closing months of 2020, Shangji Automation had signed a 20,000-tonne monocrystalline silicon ingot supply agreement with Canadian Solar as well as a five-year 20GW monocrystalline silicon wafer supply agreement with Trina Solar.

The signing with Tongwei this time is Shangji Automation’s second major signing in 2021 and extends its hot streak. On January 20, Shangji Automation’s wholly-owned subsidiary Hongyuan New Materials (Baotou) Co., Ltd. and Chint Electric subsidiaries signed a three-year monocrystalline silicon wafer procurement contract worth 4.059 billion yuan (tax included).
