Qinghai Province Accounts for More Than 90% of Installed Clean Energy

PVTIME – October 25, according to the Energy Bureau of Qinghai Province, China, the installed clean energy capacity in Qinghai province has reached 40.7GW. The installed capacity of clean energy in Qinghai province accounts for 90.36% and that of new energy accounts for 61.06%.

The capacity of solar power in Qinghai is 16.01GW, solar thermal capacity is 0.21GW, wind power capacity is 8.63GW, hydropower capacity is 11.93GW, and thermal power capacity is 3.93GW. By the end of September, the power generation of Qinghai power grid was 74.523 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 5.18%. By the end of this year, the power generation in Qinghai is expected to be 96.5 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 2.5%.

Moreover, the completed Qinghai-Henan ±800 kV UHV DC project is the UHV channel for clean energy transmission with the highest proportion of new energy in the world. By the end of September, Qinghai had delivered 8.98 billion kWh of “green power” to central China, reducing standard coal usage by more than 2.75 million MT as well as carbon dioxide emissions by more than 8.08 million MT.
