Phase I of Risen Energy’s 15GW High-Efficiency Solar Cell and 15GW Module Project in Yiwu Begins Construction

PVTIME – On September 23, construction of Risen Energy’s 20.6 billion yuan, 15GW high-efficiency solar cell and 15GW module project officially began in the western expansion block at Yiwu Economic and Technological Development Zone. It is the second project invested by Risen Energy in Yiwu and also the largest industrial project agreement signed by the Management Committee of Yiwu Economic and Technological Development Zone to date.

Spanning 165 acres, the project will be constructed in two phases and completed in 5 years. Upon completion, the project will produce 15GW of high-efficiency solar cells and 15GW of modules, generate an estimated operating income of 24 billion yuan, and create 6500 jobs. Construction of Phase I, which will produce 5GW in solar cells and 5GW in modules annually, has been approved and started in less than one month since the signing of the investment agreement on August 28. Phase II, according to market demand, will add an additional 10GW in solar cell and 10GW in module production over the next 3 to 5 years
