PVTIME – Prime Minister Sánchez has reaffirmed Spain’s commitment to welcoming increased Chinese investment in green sectors, including new energy. He stressed the value of deepening pragmatic cooperation between enterprises from both countries. This commitment was emphasised at a recent ceremony where HiTHIUM and the Government of the Autonomous Community of Navarre, represented by its president, María Chivite Navascués, formalised a strategic cooperation agreement by signing a MOU.

This significant collaboration will see the construction of a large-scale energy storage battery and system manufacturing plant in Navarre, with the first phase requiring a total investment of around 400 million euros. A joint venture between HiTHIUM and the Government of Navarre will oversee the development and construction of the facility, with both parties collaborating closely to drive progress.
As part of HiTHIUM’s European localisation strategy, this initiative will increase the company’s global production capacity and optimise its supply chain. Upon completion, the facility will enhance HiTHIUM’s delivery capabilities and service efficiency in Europe, invigorate Spain’s and Europe’s new energy sectors, and reinforce economic and trade ties between China and Spain. Localised production will also enable HiTHIUM to respond more effectively to regional demands and reinforce its international competitiveness. The partnership, forged through in-depth bilateral exchanges and assessments, reflects equal mutual recognition and alignment in development visions. Navarre’s favourable business environment and industrial foundation complement HiTHIUM’s global energy storage expertise, forming a mutually beneficial alliance that will drive green energy development and shared growth.
