Hongfuhan Targets African Solar Growth via COP Acquisition

PVTIME – On 23 September 2026, Shenzhen-listed Hongfuhan Technology announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Hong Kong Hongfuhan Technology, would invest a total of RMB 5.6 billion to acquire a controlling stake in COP Digital Energy S.A.R.L. and develop a solar-plus-storage project in the Kamika mining area in Africa.

The transaction comprises two components. Firstly, Hong Kong Hongfuhan will pay a total of RMB 40 million to acquire 100% of Gepai Holding Co., Ltd (Gepai BVI) for RMB 20.5 million and a 49% stake in ECOSOLEIL S.A.S for RMB 19.5 million. It will then inject RMB 520 million into Gepai BVI to fund the construction of the Kamika solar and storage power station.

Upon completion of the transaction, Hongfuhan will hold a 73.99% stake in COP Digital Energy, thereby gaining control of the project company and the revenue rights under its power purchase agreement with Kamika Mining. The deal remains subject to domestic and overseas regulatory filings, and the formal share transfer and capital increase agreements have yet to be signed.
