BRL500m! BYD to Invest in Brazilian Battery Storage Factory

PVTIME – Chinese electric vehicle and energy storage manufacturer BYD has announced plans to invest 500 million Brazilian reais (approximately 97.5 million USD) in local manufacturing facilities for battery energy storage systems in Brazil.

This investment will be implemented in phases and will be used exclusively to increase BYD’s production capacity. The company has stated that the initial phase of the project is expected to generate 300–400 direct job opportunities. The new facility’s installed capacity has not yet been disclosed.

This new facility demonstrates BYD’s ongoing commitment to localising its energy storage manufacturing operations in Brazil and supporting the country’s increasing demand for clean energy solutions and battery storage infrastructure.
