PVTIME – Following the successful delivery of the world’s largest 7.8GWh energy storage facility in Saudi Arabia, Sungrow has recently secured a significant supply contract in the United Arab Emirates. The firm will collaborate with the renewable energy company Masdar to supply 7.5GWh of PowerTitan 3.0 liquid-cooled energy storage systems, as well as 2.6GW of inverters, for the RTC 1 Plant (North) project.

This scheme is set to launch operationally, facilitating an annual reduction in carbon emissions of around 5.7 million tonnes and effectively driving forward the delivery of the UAE’s 2050 energy roadmap. This project is set to set two unprecedented global industry precedents: the world’s first GW-class all-round operational renewable energy project, and the largest-scale practical application project for 684Ah laminated battery cells worldwide.
Grid connection for the entire project is scheduled for 2027. The PowerTitan 3.0 product range features pre-installation and pre-commissioning configurations, enabling automatic one-click setup and on-site self-verification once the equipment arrives at the project site. Backed by advanced manufacturing expertise and extensive localised delivery services, Sungrow is well-placed to ensure the efficient and timely handover of projects throughout the entire execution phase.
