LONGi Secures European Market Footprint with Successful Energy Storage Project Commissioning

PVTIME – LONGi has successfully commissioned its first integrated energy storage project in Italy, marking a significant milestone in its expansion into the European market. The project comprises a 35 MWp solar PV plant paired with a 13.75MW/50.16MWh energy storage system, providing a complete clean energy solution.

This project in Italy represents LONGi’s entry into the European energy storage sector, showcasing its ability to deliver efficiently and reliably. LONGi provided a complete turnkey solution, including core energy storage equipment and system-level management. Thanks to a unified technical framework and optimised design, the project minimises losses associated with multi-equipment integration, ensuring optimal energy efficiency and stable, clean power output. The project is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by over 74,000 tonnes per year, supplying clean energy to around 123,000 households and driving the transformation of local energy structures.

The project site is located just 6 km from the Mediterranean coast and faces harsh, corrosive conditions, including high salt spray, high humidity, and extreme environmental factors. Leveraging its in-house R&D capabilities, LONGi has reinforced critical areas such as electrical safety, thermal management, and corrosion protection, ensuring the system operates at peak performance even in challenging conditions. This highlights the exceptional reliability of its products. Under a Long-Term Service Agreement, LONGi also provides comprehensive technical support, including equipment maintenance, performance monitoring, and emergency response, thereby reducing operational risks for the client.

The project’s success is rooted in an in-depth understanding of the needs of the European market. Southern Europe, particularly Italy, has an abundance of solar resources and a growing demand for integrated PV-storage solutions. LONGi’s technical expertise and localised services have delivered a benchmark project that aligns with European green energy policies. This lays a solid foundation for further market expansion across Europe and beyond.

Looking ahead, LONGi will continue to prioritise its “LONGi ONE” integrated solution, driving innovation in energy storage technology and strategic planning to provide reliable, efficient, and clean integrated energy products and services worldwide.
