PVTIME – Construction has officially begun on a landmark 48 MW solar project in Lopburi, Thailand, developed by Minebea Super Solar Power Ltd.—a joint venture between Japanese precision giant MinebeaMitsumi and Thailand’s Super Energy.

The project is part of a broader PV & BESS portfolio that includes this 48 MW / 60 MWh facility in Lopburi and a 104 MW / 129 MWh project in Bang Pa-in, Ayutthaya. Together, they form a flagship roadmap for MinebeaMitsumi’s operations in Thailand and represent one of Southeast Asia’s largest “direct power supply” industrial solar installations.
Selected under Japan’s Fiscal Year 2025 Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM), the initiative serves as a model for regional decarbonization. Hanersun has been named the module supplier for this high-profile project, which will be fully equipped with the company’s flagship HITOUCH 6N 715 W bifacial modules.
Built on advanced n-type technology, these modules are specifically engineered to perform in Thailand’s hot and humid climate. Featuring enhanced encapsulation and superior anti-PID performance, the HITOUCH 6N series ensures long-term reliability and stable power output. The robust design maximizes energy yield throughout the project’s lifecycle, helping lower the levelized cost of energy (LCOE) for the client’s manufacturing bases.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Sunny Sun, Vice President of Hanersun, and Jason Liu, Regional Sales Director, joined representatives from MinebeaMitsumi and Super Energy to mark the start of construction.
“Thailand is a strategic cornerstone for Hanersun’s global expansion,” stated Sunny Sun. “Being selected for this JCM-supported project after a rigorous technical evaluation validates the solid strength of our n-type technology. We are fully committed to ensuring high-quality delivery and supporting MinebeaMitsumi in achieving energy autonomy and its ambitious carbon neutrality goals.”
Ms. Suchanya Nanumchio, VP-BD of MSSP added: “Hanersun has earned a stellar reputation in the Southeast Asian market. Their modules’ environmental adaptability and high-performance metrics meet our exacting standards for industrial operations. This 48 MW project is a critical step in optimizing our energy structure, and we look forward to further collaboration in the green energy space.”
As global manufacturing accelerates its shift toward sustainability, Hanersun remains focused on technological innovation. The company continues to deepen its footprint in key global markets, partnering with international leaders to scale clean energy applications and drive the global transition to a net-zero future.
