e-STORAGE will provide energy storage systems and long-term maintenance services for two projects in Texas, with a total capacity of 503MWh (DC). This will strengthen Canadian Solar’s presence in the North American energy storage market.

The collaboration will proceed in two phases and is named the Lupinus projects, developed by Sunraycer. Lupinus I (202MWh) is set to begin construction in Q1 2027, with commercial operations due to commence in Q3 of the same year. Meanwhile, Lupinus II (301MWh) is expected to break ground in Q3 2026, with commercial operations scheduled to begin in Q2 2027.

Texas’ ERCOT market is one of North America’s fastest-growing energy storage sectors. The Lupinus projects will support the integration of renewable energy into the grid, enhance grid stability, and underpin a more flexible and resilient power system.

e-STORAGE will supply its proprietary SolBank 3.0 systems paired with a 10-year maintenance service to ensure lifecycle reliability and efficiency. These systems use Canadian Solar’s in-house cells and draw on its global manufacturing network to boost supply chain resilience. Safety, scalability and high efficiency are at the core of these systems.

Sunraycer CEO David Lillefloren noted that the partnership will advance Texas’ sustainable energy infrastructure, strengthening the reliability of ERCOT and highlighting the role of storage in the clean energy transition. Canadian Solar and e-STORAGE President Colin Parkin added that the partnership will leverage e-STORAGE’s BESS expertise to deliver long-term value and support Texas’s growth in utility-scale storage.
