26.6%! Runergy’s TOPCon 3.0 Cells Secure Place on NREL’s Global Efficiency Chart

PVTIME – Jiangsu Runergy has officially been included in the updated global Best Research Cell Efficiency Chart by the US National Renewable Energy Laboratory with its independently developed, mass-produced TOPCon 3.0 monocrystalline silicon solar cells. First set in October 2025 and subsequently validated through authoritative certification, this efficiency record features in NREL’s latest chart for 2026 and marks a historic leap for China’s photovoltaic industry in the core monocrystalline silicon solar cell technology route.

The selected cells have dimensions of 182.2 mm × 183.75 mm and achieve a conversion efficiency of 26.6% in the non-concentrated monocrystalline silicon cell technology route, verified by the authoritative third-party German Institute for Solar Energy Research Hamelin (ISFH). This figure not only exceeds Ruyang New Energy’s previous record, but also surpasses the 26.4% full-area N-type TOPCon cell efficiency documented by Professor Martin Green in Solar Cell Efficiency Tables, Version 6.6, Progress in Photovoltaics: Research and Applications, making it the highest full-area N-type cell efficiency in publicly available data.

Runergy has long focused on advancing technological research and development with engineering and manufacturability at its core, moving beyond laboratory-based, single-point efficiency demonstrations. The full-area N-type cells based on M10 silicon wafers were developed and validated under mass production processes, reflecting the company’s long-term balanced and rational approach to reconciling efficiency improvements with industrial feasibility.

Runergy maintains that sustainable technological leadership is achieved through long-term investment, systematic accumulation, and respect for professional boundaries, rather than short-term exposure and market hype. Looking ahead, the company will continue to focus on core technical areas, such as photovoltaic cells and modules. It will collaborate with global partners to drive technological progress in this field and deliver valuable, long-term solutions to support the global energy transition.
