PVTIME – Italian photovoltaic equipment supplier Ecoprogetti has announced the successful commissioning of a fully automated 400MW solar module production line in Salalah, Oman. The completion of the facility marks a pivotal stage in the development of Oman’s solar manufacturing industry, enabling Ecoprogetti to achieve full business coverage across the country and strengthening its position as a leader in the local PV module manufacturing sector. It also paves the way for Oman to strengthen its role as a strategic hub for photovoltaic manufacturing and exports.

Ecoprogetti custom-built the new plant for Advanced American Clean Energy (AACE), with the design and construction of the production line completed entirely in Italy. Key features include the integration of two state-of-the-art module manufacturing technologies: TOPCon and HJT. The line is fully automated, covering string soldering, lamination, framing, testing, and quality inspection. According to Ecoprogetti, the production system ensures high capacity and quality, while offering exceptional flexibility to adapt to technological iterations and changes in market demand. Its solutions serve new manufacturers and existing enterprises seeking to enhance automation levels, reduce operational costs, and achieve precise control over production quality.
Laura Sartore, Ecoprogetti’s Chief Executive Officer, commented that the completion of the Salalah plant represents a significant milestone in deepening collaboration with the company’s Omani partners. With the full operationalisation of this facility, alongside the previously established Sheida solar production line in Sohar, Oman, Ecoprogetti will provide robust support for improving Oman’s local photovoltaic industrial chain, helping the country to fulfil its vision for a sustainable energy future.
Ecoprogetti has established a leading position in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, ranking first in terms of the number of installed photovoltaic module production lines and holding a market share of over 50%. The company operates in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and other countries, and has established a service centre and spare parts warehouse in Sharjah to provide a comprehensive service. Commissioning the new Salalah plant will further improve Ecoprogetti’s presence in the Middle East, reducing Oman’s reliance on imported photovoltaic products and enhancing the technical strength and competitiveness of the local industry.
