OSW Secures $5.5M to Become ‘Amazon of Clean Energy’ Globally

PVTIME – Australia’s largest solar panel wholesaler and distributor, One Stop Warehouse (OSW), has secured $5.5 million USD (approximately $8.5 million AUD) in funding to support its international expansion and achieve its goal of becoming the “Amazon of clean energy”. The investment will be used to grow its presence in key solar markets, including Romania.

The funding comes from SparkEdge Capital, a Shanghai-based venture capital firm specialising in investments in renewable energy and the semiconductor sector. As well as Romania, the capital will be used to expand OSW’s operations in other key solar markets, including Spain, the United States and Mexico.

OSW’s CEO and co-founder, Anson Zhang, said that the firm had dominated the Australian market for many years, and he noted that this investment marked an important milestone as OSW entered new markets and continued to develop the infrastructure needed to support the global energy transition. He added that OSW is developing an AI-powered internet platform for the distributed energy sector, with the aim of offering integrated solutions as the “Amazon of clean energy”.

Founded in Brisbane in 2013 by Anson Zhang and the entrepreneur Jeff Yu, OSW quickly became a leader in Australia’s solar panel and battery distribution market, holding the top market share for seven consecutive years. Internationally, OSW has established a strong position in Europe, with market penetration exceeding 20% in the Netherlands and Poland. The company also maintains sales offices in Germany, France, Italy and Belgium.

The additional funding will also accelerate the global rollout of OSW’s GreenSketch platform. This free digital service provides users with a one-stop design service for solar and battery projects. According to OSW, it is the first platform to offer an end-to-end solar design solution at no cost, integrating design, procurement, subsidy applications and project management into a single, free interface.
