PVTIME – Jinko ESS, a strategic arm of JinkoSolar and a key player in global energy storage solutions for commercial, industrial and utility applications, has announced the successful completion and grid connection of a 3.8MWh large-scale storage project in Hungary. The initiative, delivered in partnership with SolarToday, represents the company’s first project in the country.

On-site construction began on 26 May and progressed swiftly to seamless commissioning, with the Jinko ESS team taking a central role in critical stages including system integration, safety validation and performance testing. Close collaboration across all involved parties was instrumental in this efficient delivery.
The project addresses Hungary’s growing need for grid regulation, a demand spurred by the steady rise in renewable energy installations. It combines Jinko ESS’s proprietary batteries with iNOVAT’s MV Skid technology and PowerKonnekt’s energy management system (EMS). Its modular, integrated design creates a high-efficiency storage solution with agile grid response capabilities, enabling precise stability adjustments and effective support for the integration of local wind and solar energy. This flexibility provides reliable backing for the region’s energy structure transition.
Lorenzo Paumgardhen, Jinko ESS’s European Sales Manager, noted that the project’s successful launch stands as a significant milestone in the company’s European market expansion. He highlighted that as the first Jinko ESS venture in Hungary, its rapid execution and consistent performance validate the suitability of the company’s products for European markets and lay strong foundations for deeper collaboration with SolarToday and other local partners.
